Semester System
For Engineering and Science students, we have semester system, which means in the middle of the year a student has to appear in an examination and clear some papers. There is scope for consequent attempts for uncleared papers. Engineering students shall have to clear all first semester papers for promotion to the next class.

In Arts, however, the system of annual examination persists. The M.A. examination is held in two parts- (I) Part-I at the end of the 1st year and Part -II at the end of the 2nd year. For M.A. (Evening) students. The Part-I examination will be held at the end of the 2nd year and the Part-II at the end of the 3rd year.

For the Undergraduate courses, the examinations are held in 3 parts, each part at the end of every year a student who passes all the examinations, will be awarded degrees, by the university.

Eligibility of Semester Examination :- Necessarily one needs an eligibility criteria to appear at the first or second semester examination and this eligibility depends on the regularity in attendance in Theoretical and Practical classes, as well as in Workshops. If one is missing classes on a regular basis, he/she is inviting trouble.
Continuous Evaluation System
The assessment of merit is not based on a 3-hour marathon performance only. We have for Engineering students a continuous evaluation system which makes one sit for two or four class tests in each paper in each semester. As a student one will gradually discover that this will work out to a member of class each semester to be almost one test every week. So one can never detach oneself from the daily classes and regular studies.
