1. Certificate of Merit under National Scholarships Scheme on the basis of results in the Higher Secondary Examination 1975.
2. Ganesh Janani Debi Memorial Silver Medal awarded by Jadavpur University, for securing highest marks in Electrical Machines II and III (combined) in the BEE examinations of 1979 and 1980.

Had a training of one month duration on the 'TOKAMAK' machine (a hot plasma experimental device)at the 'Heavy Engineering Works' of Toshiba Corporation in Japan, in 1986.
