The Future Plans & Programmes for the Jadavpur University Library are as follows:

1. Completion of the Third Floor of Annex Building – Digital Archives and Theses (Hard Copy) Collection.
2. RFID Library Management for all books including departmental and campus library.
3. Space Renovation of Property Counter in the entrance point of theCentral Library for better user support and architectural beautification.
4. Close Circuit TV to all Reading Rooms.
5. Relegation of old and obsolete documents.
6. Print Journals Rare Journals Archives – Separate Building.
7. Creation of Databases
   a) Journal Database.
   b) Articles Database (particularly in Bengali Language).
   c) Excerpts from old and rare books.
8. Research in the areas of Digital Library - Software Development in case of Bengali Publications.
